PLS Check Cashers Introduces 'PLS Xpress Benefits' for Faster, More Secure Access to Government Benefits
Chicago, IL (PRWeb) January 28, 2007 -- Every month, millions of Americans wait anxiously for their government benefits check to arrive in the mail. With the introduction of PLS Xpress Benefits, a direct deposit service for government benefits from PLS Check Cashers, the wait is over.
"With PLS Xpress Benefits, our customers can access their funds as many as 4 days faster than before, and there's no risk of a check getting lost in the mail," said Dan Wolfberg, president of PLS Check Cashers. PLS Check Cashers offers consumers another important advantage - convenience. "Nearly eighty percent of our 96 locations are open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, a real benefit to our customers who need flexibility in order to access their funds."
PLS Check Cashers is partnering with Republic Bank & Trust Company of Louisville, Kentucky to provide PLS Xpress Benefits. Customers must complete an application, available at any PLS Check Cashers location, to have their Social Security, Supplemental Security Income (SSI), VA benefits or government pension benefits deposited with Republic Bank & Trust Company. Rather than wait for a check to arrive in the mail, the funds are immediately available at any of the 96 PLS Check Cashers locations. Customers can receive the funds as a check for a $2.95 fee. If the check is cashed at any PLS Check Cashers location, PLS automatically rebates part of that fee so that the customer's cost is only $1.33.
The US Treasury Department actively encourages retirees and other beneficiaries to sign up for direct deposit with banks and financial services companies. Until recently, direct deposit of Social Security and other government benefits was unavailable to the 28 million Americans who don't have bank accounts. "PLS Check Cashers is proud to be able to provide secure, convenient and fast access to benefits checks to all consumers," says Bob Wolfberg, President of PLS Financial Services.
Republic Bank & Trust Company of Louisville, Kentucky is partnering with all PLS Check Cashers locations to deliver PLS Xpress Benefits. In the Chicago area, covering the region from Gary, IN to Aurora to Waukegan, PLS is the exclusive partner of Republic Bank & Trust Company.
